  • Tam Hunt

    Chair, Secretary

    Tam is a lawyer, writer and advocate. He has twenty years of experience as a public policy lawyer, focused mostly on renewable energy law and policy. He has been in Hawaii off and on since the early 1990s, when he was a soldier at Schofield Barracks and trained each year at Pohakuloa Training Area on the Big Island. He is a co-founder of Think B.I.G. and a board member of the Hawaii EV Association. He is working on his first novel about Hawaii. He is a proud parent of three cats.

  • Noel Morin

    Vice-Chair

    Noel is a co-founder of Think B.I.G. He is involved in several local organizations focused on climate action, sustainability, resilience, and STEM education. He is an Infrastructure Partner for Sustainability Partners. He is on the board of Sustainable Energy Hawaii, Hawaii EV, Big Island EV, NexTech Hawaii, and the Red Cross Pacific Region.

    Noel has a master’s degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco. He resides in Hilo.

  • Jeannette Gurung

    Director

    Jeannette Gurung, PhD, is a forester and gender expert, Founder and Executive Director of WOCAN (Women Organizing for Change in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management) — a Hawai’i-based international non-profit with over 1350 members in 113 countries, to support capacity building for women’s leadership and empowerment and gender integration. Jeannette is also a co-founder of a new initiative to develop a Climate Resilient and Agricultural Innovation Hub for Women Farmers of Hawai’i County.

  • Heather Kimball

    Heather is a County of Hawaii councilmember for District 1 (Hamakua) and Council Chair. She also owns a consulting firm supporting communication for science-based policy and decision-making on the issues of climate change. Heather is a co-founder of Think B.I.G.

  • Rep. Nicole Lowen

    A resident of Kailua-Kona for more than 20 years, Nicole Lowen has been serving as state representative from the Big Island since 2012. She is Chair of the House Energy and Environmental Protection Committee and has sponsored and passed several bills to help improve Hawaii’s environment and quality of life.
